Mahmud Mirza Hosseini

By definition, revolution is a fundamental change in the socio political, cultural, moral, economic and legal structures of a society and replacement of them by a new system of modern norms and values which mostly occur when there is a widespread dissatisfaction with the general policies dominant over the country. The learned leader of the revolution observed the of political, military, cultural, economic independence, the murder of political activists, suppression in the universities and religious schools, as the main reasons of the nation’s rise against the Pahlavi Regime.

Following the publication of a strongly worded article against Imam Khomeini in the press, according to the existing records, the real and legal individuals embarked on condemnation of this move of the regime. The elite and the authorities began to propose tactics to the Shah to pacify the people and keep the Shah. Calling the Shah and the queen with pseudonyms, freedom of the press, and removal of the Bahahis from important offices, execution of the constitution, and change of the cabinet ministers, all were among the reforms they were going to carry out. However, these had no effect on the revolutionary movement of Iranians who were thinking of the return of their leader and removal of the dominant regime.
